Lassa hemorrhagic fever (LHF) is one of the main diseases of the century, says the UN. It is an endemic disease in West Africa, where more than 300,000 new infections and 5,000 deaths are reported annually. Since it was discovered in a small village in Nigeria, several cases of this fever have been reported in places outside Africa, such as North America and Europe.
The lack of information and difficulty in capturing data interested us to explore further the theme of this problem, and also, the importance of using and capturing data in emerging / poor countries for the contribution of these data to social development.
About 23 districts in Sierra Leone were studied with an average of more than 20 countries involved, with a team that had more than 6 experts in the field of data and also in the area of health and epidemiology, along with natives from the countries that contributed for the interpretation and development of our studies.
